Ascent Exits was founded on the premise that the Traditional Business Brokerage process leaves sellers financially drained, physically exhausted and locked into a long-term exclusivity contract that doesn’t meet your needs. You’re arriving at your largest payday and instead of someone that provides you with transparent pricing and a solid process to sell your business, your locked into a 2 year exclusivity agreement and shelling out $15,000 or more to sell your business. And on top of that there is only a 15-33% chance that your business will sell (dependent on varying factors).
We are maniacal in our purpose and we will ensure that your business is brought to market in the best possible way. We can’t guarantee that your business will sell and you will not find a traditional broker that can. But our deliverables and services are second to none, so when you become an Ascent Exits customer, you are better positioned to sell than anyone else in the market.

Our Founder
Like you, I spent years owning and managing my own businesses, only to come to the end of the journey without fully understanding how to transition those businesses to a potential buyer. It was an arduous and expensive process that only left me frustrated. However, I eventually transitioned two of my businesses. One on a handshake deal and another through closure. Neither result was ideal, but it allowed me to move to the next journey, acquisition entrepreneurship.
After shuttering one of my businesses, I shifted my focus to acquisition entrepreneurship where I engaged hundreds of sellers and their representative brokers over the course of several years. My intent was to buy a platform business and eventually to add other businesses from there. Instead I discovered that business owners are significantly under tooled and not well represented by their brokers. Just a few of my broker engagements:
- The broker didn’t educate their client on the importance of segregating personal taxes from the business expenses, which resulted in an over inflation. As a result the seller wanted to push years of tax evasion onto the buyer, which the broker supported.
- Another broker didn’t know how to create a CIM as focused solely on the real estate value, because they were real estate agents. The real estate was an important part of the deal, but only made up 50% of the total value of the sale. The broker finally confirmed they had never sold a business.
- Another broker didn’t want to talk to a qualified buyer because of an assumed licensing issue. That business is still on the market after two years.
There were many other brokers that just didn’t serve their clients in the most optimal way possible.
And this is why I created Ascent Exits. I don’t want to see another business being misrepresented or poorly represented by their broker. I don’t want to see another seller who’s business doesn’t sell because of poor representation.

Our "Why"
As an acquisition entrepreneur , our founder saw hundreds of sellers that were not educated on the selling or valuation process. Those sellers were not represented or were poorly represented. They didn’t receive the service or support they needed to successfully sell. And because of that some sellers didn’t sell and instead they ended up closing their doors or in some cases they just continued to muddle on, with no hope of transitioning their businesses.
